Responsibilities
Design and lead backend architectures that power AI/ML-driven capabilities across mobile and API ecosystems
Own the end-to-end technical strategy for integrating LLMs, managing embedding stores, and delivering personalized content at scale
Collaborate with product and design teams to scope features, assess feasibility, and ensure solutions drive measurable business impact
Develop tools and services that enable teams to experiment with and deploy AI-enhanced features responsibly and efficiently
Elevate engineering standards by driving best practices in observability, performance, and security
Mentor engineers across teams, strengthening expertise in backend systems, AI integration, and delivery excellence
Partner cross-functionally with QA, Mobile, Data Science, Product, and Marketing to ensure cohesive, high-quality product delivery
Qualification
Required
8+ years of backend development experience, including 2+ years focused on AI/ML solutions or LLM integration
Hands-on experience with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search
Familiarity with MLOps, CI/CD pipelines for AI, and AI observability tools
Proficient in Node.js, TypeScript, GraphQL, and REST APIs
Deep expertise in AWS architecture, including Lambda, ECS, S3, DynamoDB, API Gateway, and Step Functions
Experience designing and integrating LLM features (e.g., via OpenAI, Claude, Vertex AI), covering prompt design, vector storage, and retrieval strategies
Strong system design skills, with focus on scalability, reliability, and fault tolerance
Ability to make clear architectural decisions, balancing idealistic design with practical constraints
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively across product and engineering teams
Preferred
Experience developing AI agents as code using platforms such as Amazon Bedrock Agents, LangGraph, AWS Strands Agents, and OpenAI Agents/Responses API
Skilled in creating custom tools and integrating them into AI agent control loops
Familiarity with Google's A2A protocol and its implementation in AI workflows
