Engineering Branch Manager

Certerra is a growing national provider of testing, inspection, and certification services. The Tacoma Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing all operations at the Tacoma office, ensuring effective service delivery, fostering client relationships, and driving business growth.

Overseeing all operations at Certerra’s Tacoma office
Ensuring the effective delivery of services
Fostering strong client relationships
Driving business growth
Leading the local team
Managing resources
Ensuring all projects are executed efficiently, on time, and in compliance with company standards and client expectations
Providing leadership across a diverse range of residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects
Supervising operations
Ensuring adherence to technical standards and regulatory requirements
Maintaining quality assurance on all deliverables
Collaborating closely with project managers, technical staff, and administrative personnel to resolve field issues
Streamlining processes
Supporting professional development within the team
Tracking branch financial performance
Preparing operational reports
Maintaining certifications
Upholding a strong safety culture
Engaging directly with clients
Building long-term partnerships
Identifying new opportunities to expand services and grow the business in the Tacoma region

Qualification

Required

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
A minimum of 3–5 years of managerial or supervisory experience in construction, geotechnical engineering, special inspections, materials testing, or a related technical field is strongly desired
Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to manage personnel, oversee project execution, and coordinate multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with technical inspection standards and certifications is essential for effective oversight

Preferred

A degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred
Licensure as a Geotechnical Engineer or Washington Association of Building Officials Technical Director
Possession of relevant ICC/WABO certifications, including but not limited to Reinforced Concrete, Proprietary Anchors, Lateral Wood, Structural Masonry, and Structural Steel & Bolting are preferred
