Responsibilities

System Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain server hardware, operating systems, and related software to ensure optimal performance

Security Management: Implement and enforce security protocols, including firewalls, access controls, and data encryption, to protect the organization's data and systems

Server Administration: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize server resources to support business operations

Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage data backup and recovery procedures to safeguard critical information and ensure minimal downtime in the event of system failures

User Account Management: Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls while ensuring compliance with security policies

Network Management: Assist with network configuration and maintenance, including switches, routers, and VPN connections

Patch Management: Keep software and systems up to date with the latest patches and updates to address vulnerabilities and enhance performance

Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides

Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate new technologies, hardware, and software solutions to make recommendations for system improvements

Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to address IT-related challenges, provide technical support, and contribute to IT projects and initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

A minimum of 5 years of experience in system administration or a related role

Proficiency in operating systems and virtualization technologies

Good knowledge of Office 365, SharePoint and Azure

Strong knowledge of hardware, networking, and security best practices

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Preferred

Certifications such as CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA), or equivalent are a plus
