Appalachian State University is seeking an Exhibition Assistant III to support the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts. Responsibilities

Participation in all aspects of preparation and installation/de-installation of exhibitions
Reporting directly to the Senior Curator at the Turchin Center for the Visual Arts
Demonstrated participation in the coordination and implementation of exhibitions using museum best practices

Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in artArt handling experienceExperience in exhibition spacesInterior painting experienceTeamworkCommunication skillsTime management skillsOrganization skills

Required

Bachelor's degree in studio art, art history, arts management, museum studies, or related field
Two years working in art galleries, museums, or other exhibition spaces or related experience
Demonstrated art handling experience
The ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds
The capacity to work comfortably at heights up to 40 feet
The ability to stay on task whether working independently or with a group
The ability to work with a team
Interior painting experience

Preferred

Demonstrated participation in the coordination and implementation of exhibitions using museum best practices
Demonstrates a high level of organization, communication, and time management skills
Experiences with installation of site-specific and new media installations
Experience working with living artists
Strong administrative skills taking direction and working independently
