Director, Business Strategy - Cart and Checkout (Sam's Club)

Walmart Canada is seeking a Director of Cart & Checkout at Sam’s Club, a senior leader responsible for defining and executing the vision and strategy for the Cart and Checkout ecosystem across eCommerce. This role focuses on transforming Member experience and driving operational efficiency by collaborating with various teams to enhance cart and checkout processes.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to define a clear vision and translate it into executable roadmaps
Ownership: This role is directly accountable for business outcomes including add-to-cart, conversion and other cart / checkout engagement metrics
Execution Excellence: Strong track record of delivering complex, high-impact initiatives at scale
Cross-Functional Influence: Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to align leaders without direct authority; ability to understand and manage tradeoffs
Data-Driven Decision Making: Comfort using analytics, experimentation, and insights to drive prioritization and outcomes
Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of modern eCommerce architectures, APIs, and platform dependencies (no coding required)
Member Obsession: Deep empathy for Member needs and a relentless focus on reducing friction and improving trust

Required

10+ years of experience in digital product, technology, or platform leadership roles
5+ years of experience owning or leading cart, checkout, payments, or transactional eCommerce experiences at scale
Proven ability to set vision and strategy and translate it into executable roadmaps
Strong cross-functional leadership skills with experience influencing Product, Engineering, UX, Data, and Operations
Demonstrated success driving conversion, reducing friction, and improving customer or Member experience
Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics and experimentation to inform decisions
Solid understanding of payments, fraud, tax, promotions, and checkout-related compliance considerations
