Environmental Health, Safety, & Security Manager

They are seeking a proactive Manager of Environmental Health, Safety, and Security to lead safety, environmental compliance, and site security across their U.S. manufacturing and distribution operations. Responsibilities

Ensure full compliance with applicable environmental, health, safety, and security laws, regulations, codes, and internal standards
Lead, train, and manage on-site security personnel and safety teams across all shifts
Investigate workplace accidents, identify root causes, and implement preventive measures
Drive environmental initiatives such as pollution control, recycling programs, water quality reclassification, and resource conservation
Conduct regular audits to assess risks, identify improvement areas, and ensure EHS&S program effectiveness
Oversee hazardous materials handling, including proper labeling, storage, and disposal
Facilitate comprehensive and interactive employee training on safety policies, emergency response, PPE, and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, lockout/tagout, forklifts)
Manage safety committee activities and cultivate a 'Safety First' culture plant wide
Direct on-site safety drills and emergency preparedness simulations
Administer badge access control systems and ensure facility security protocols are enforced
Collaborate with HR and others on Workers’ Compensation and injury investigations
Prepare timely, accurate reports to internal and external stakeholders, including corporate environmental reporting
Partner with vendors for EHS&S software and systems support

Required

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field required
10 – 15+ years in EHS or a related safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Experience with wastewater treatment and related responsibilities
Active OSHA certification required
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA 30, EPA, and relevant local/state regulations
Demonstrated ability to conduct audits, lead trainings, and manage regulatory compliance
Strong interpersonal, leadership, and verbal/written communication skills
Adaptable to fast-changing conditions and capable of working with diverse personalities
Experience managing teams, especially in an hourly environment
Proficiency with EHS&S software platforms

Preferred

Other relevant certifications (e.g., ISO, EPA, NEBOSH, GFSI, CPR) highly desired
