Plumbing Designer/EIT
DBR is hiring Plumbing Designers, requiring experience in the evaluation, design, and construction of plumbing systems for building-related projects. The role involves assessing plumbing needs, designing systems, preparing documentation, and coordinating with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
Study building plans to assess and forecast plumbing related system needs in order to provide guidance to architects, owners, and project managers from the earliest stages of project design
Coordinate space-planning and utility requirements for building plumbing systems
Design building plumbing systems and prepare contract document drawings and specifications for permitting, bidding, and construction
Prepare plumbing plans, risers, and details utilizing AutoCAD and Revit MEP
Complete necessary calculations for plumbing system design, piping and equipment sizing. Typical systems include domestic water distribution, waste and vent, storm, fuel gas, compressed air, and specialty gases
Select and schedule plumbing fixtures and trim
Select and schedule plumbing related equipment including water heaters, pumps, air compressors, water softeners, traps and interceptors
Multi-task as necessary across multiple ongoing design projects to coordinate with other disciplines and meet deadlines and client expectations in a professional and timely fashion
Communicate clearly and effectively in person, by telephone, and in writing with other design team members both within and exterior to the office
Assist with site visits, submittal and shop drawing review, addressing RFI’s and other construction administration related duties during project construction phases
Qualification
Required
Experience in the evaluation, design, and construction of plumbing systems for building-related projects
Well versed in building code analysis and interpretation
Industry design experience for healthcare, commercial, K-12, higher education or similar type projects
Ability to study building plans to assess and forecast plumbing related system needs
Coordinate space-planning and utility requirements for building plumbing systems
Design building plumbing systems and prepare contract document drawings and specifications for permitting, bidding, and construction
Prepare plumbing plans, risers, and details utilizing AutoCAD and Revit MEP
Complete necessary calculations for plumbing system design, piping and equipment sizing
Select and schedule plumbing fixtures and trim
Select and schedule plumbing related equipment including water heaters, pumps, air compressors, water softeners, traps and interceptors
