Attorney II (Temporary)
The NC Office of State Human Resources is seeking a temporary Attorney II to provide legal support for the Industrial Commission. This role involves conducting investigations and representing the State in civil or administrative proceedings related to Workers' Compensation Fraud and the North Carolina Tort Claims Act.

Responsibilities
Provide legal support as provided by G.S. 97-94
Assist the Industrial Commission in conducting investigations and bringing civil or administrative proceedings to collect penalties and restitution from persons who violate the Workers' Compensation Fraud Statute
Provide legal assistance to the Industrial Commission and enable the Commission to enforce the statute as directed by the General Assembly
Assist in representing the State in actions brought pursuant to the North Carolina Tort Claims Act - G.S. 143-291 et seq. and those additional matters as assigned by their supervisor
Qualification
Required
Must be fully qualified for the job
Must have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification
Must assist the Industrial Commission in conducting investigations and bringing civil or administrative proceedings to collect penalties and restitution from persons who violate the Workers' Compensation Fraud Statute
Must provide legal assistance to the Industrial Commission and enable the Commission to enforce the statute as directed by the General Assembly
Must assist in representing the State in actions brought pursuant to the North Carolina Tort Claims Act - G.S. 143-291 et seq
Must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position if a permanent or time-limited NC State Government employee
Must work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week to be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High-Deductible Health Plan (HDHP)
