Community Development Specialist
The DC Department of Human Resources is seeking a Community Development Specialist for the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities. This role is responsible for serving as a technical resource for community outreach and engagement, developing partnerships, and ensuring equitable access to programmatic opportunities.

Responsibilities
Develops appropriate partnerships with entities, businesses, and community-based organizations with the primary goal of ensuring equitable access to, and engagement in, grants and other programmatic opportunities at CAH
Coordinates with CAH’s leadership and programming teams to identify communities not currently served by the agency and to assess and respond to those needs through the facilitation and implementation of programmatic opportunities to ensure greater access
Coordinates and contributes to outreach activities that include seminars, meetings, and workshops for the community of arts and humanities organizations, individual artists, humanities practitioners, and other entities working in the arts and humanities across the District of Columbia
Serves as a technical resource to various individuals, groups, and committees for planning and programmatic outreach and acts as a liaison between government agencies and/or the community
Contributes to the development of social marketing strategies and the dissemination of informational materials, and activities in collaboration with the programming and marketing teams at CAH
Determines the schedule for community outreach activities and maintains an annual calendar in collaboration with CAH colleagues, to ensure programs have the requisite technical, marketing, and personnel supporting them to guarantee their success
Qualification
Required
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the CS-11 grade level in the District of Columbia government service, or equivalent public or private sector
Specialized experience is experience which is in or directly related to the line of work of the position and has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position
Experience developing partnerships with businesses, and community-based organizations, coordinating and participating in community activities
