Responsibilities

Lead complex design projects from the planning through permitting and construction phases, including alternative delivery projects
Experience working with mid-level staff and leading multi-discipline project design teams locally and remotely
Interface with client and regulatory agencies and play a major role on presentations to existing or potential clients
Experience in civil and stormwater design
Design of pipe conveyance and coordination/understanding of modeling of collection systems
Develop and review design and construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
Oversee and prepare engineering reports and documentations
Prepare engineering services proposals, fee estimates, and schedules
Conduct field inspections and assessments to ensure compliance with design standards and regulations
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and design staff
Stay current on industry trends and advancements in design and engineering
Assess trends in the marketplace and lead strategy and assist with proposal development with support from local and national staff to capture expanded suite of services AECOM can offer clients
Provide construction administration support

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil or Environmental engineering, or other related field required, and 6 years of relevant experience
Professional Engineer in the state of NY, or ability to obtain PE licensure within 1 year of employment
Demonstrated experience developing engineering deliverables such as engineering reports, design drawings, technical specifications, and other detailed engineering deliverables
Proven and demonstrated experience working on stormwater, water, wastewater, or flood protection/resilience projects
Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review

Preferred

12+ years of extensive project experience in municipal water, wastewater and/or stormwater design, analysis, installation, inspection, and management in design within dense urban settings
Excellent communication skills and the ability to be client-facing
Strong knowledge of water/wastewater/stormwater design codes, standards, and regulations
Pipeline condition assessment and rehabilitation experience
Experience with combined sewer overflow communities with planning, design and construction of combined sewer overflow infrastructure (Storage tanks/tunnels/sewer separation)
Coordination of projects with civil design and modeling teams
Strong communication skills in coordinating with clients, sub-consultants, regulatory agencies, and members of the public to accomplish assigned objectives
Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution
Must have excellent organizational skills and be able to work well in a team environment
Makes decisions independently on engineering problems and methods
Self-starter and ability to take initiative
