Development Database Administrator
The Smith Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a Development Database Administrator to provide technical leadership and enhance business practices within the Development department. The role involves managing the integrity of the Tessitura database, analyzing data, and serving as a liaison between departments.

Responsibilities
Responsible for the general administration and integrity of the Development portion of Tessitura
Contributes and manages the data structure within Tessitura for core Development operations, including, but not limited to financial reporting, membership, data hygiene, and overall application management
Enters all revenue raised through fundraising efforts into Tessitura
Creates and reviews various constituent and fundraising reports, lists, and dashboards for Development staff and committees of the Board of Directors
Serve as the liaison between the Development department and the Information Technology team
Serves as liaison with the Finance Department during the annual audit and reconciles gifts at the close of each month and fiscal year-end
Provides database training to current and new employees
Maintains database procedure manuals and SOP documentation
Maintains and creates database analytics dashboards upon request
Responds to prospect and donor research requests
Contributes to new and ongoing staff education in Tessitura usage as well as provides detailed, project-specific training
Identifies tactical solutions for process implementation related to Tessitura
Perform any other duties as assigned within the scope of the position
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required; college degree preferred
One or more years of demonstrated work experience with CRMs
Three or more years of experience working in a non-profit, fundraising/development environment is preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills and professional communication skills (both oral and written.)
Ability to deal with a range of styles and behaviors in a tactful, positive, and professional manner
Strategic thinking and analytical ability
Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with minimal supervision
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in order to meet deadlines
Self-starter with superior attention to detail
Ability to examine and evaluate data and report findings
Effectively adapt to changes in department policies and procedures
Superior understanding of database file structure and experience with CRM or fundraising software; Tessitura knowledge preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.) is required
Multitasking, organizational, and time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to meet critical deadlines
Desire and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Ability to deal with a range of styles and behaviors
Ability to cultivate and maintain productive working relationships with organization staff, community partners, donors, and founders
This position will require sitting for long periods, standing, bending, and walking, as well as using fine motor skills, such as finger dexterity for typing
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
Ability to regularly lift, move, carry, push, and pull 50 lbs. or more
Ability to occasionally reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
Ability to physically stand, walk, and climb stairs on a consistent basis
Ability to operate a computer keyboard and mouse, and to handle other office equipment
Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus to effectively use mobile devices, and electronic devices such as tablets, iPads, and computer screens
A candidate must have the physical and mental capacity to effectively perform all essential functions described
Occasionally required to assemble and/or disassemble furniture and fixtures
This position could be exposed to loud noises, and frequent phone conversations, and requires average to above average visual acuity and hearing
Most of this job will be performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment
Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits if required by federal, state, and local regulations during the course of employment
