As a Quality Intern, you will support the Plant Quality Manager and the Quality team in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System (QMS), assisting with activities such as Document Control, Change Control, and internal audits.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing Plant Document Control and Change Control activities
Support customer and regulatory audits by preparing documentation and assisting with audit processes
Contribute to the Internal Audit Program, including conducting internal audits and documenting findings
Provide support for plant projects related to quality and compliance
Assist with organizing and facilitating training activities (e.g., cGMP, record control, etc.)
Help maintain and periodically report metrics related to quality activities
Support Plant Safety programs to ensure a safe working environment
Assist with maintaining engineering drawings, project reports, specifications, and documentation
Support the implementation of work inspections and procedures, including assigning document numbers as needed
Participate in recommending process simplifications and continuous improvement efforts
Help ensure confidentiality of sensitive materials and compliance with local, national, and international standards
Assist in administering the Plant Records Retention Program, ensuring compliance in collaboration with the Department of Archives and Records Management (DARM)
Provide support to the QA Coordinator and other team members as needed
Contribute to the achievement of Quality Department short- and long-term goals

Required

Current enrollment in a degree program in a field such as Technical Writing, Data Science, Computer Science English, Business Administration, or Journalism
Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27-July 31, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity
Be willing to work in Oneonta, NY
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
A desire to learn and continuously improve
Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred

Ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment
Strong interpersonal skills to interact with individuals from various cultural backgrounds and organizational levels
