F/A-18 Super Hornet Avionics Technician
Boeing Aerospace Operations is searching for an F/A-18 Super Hornet Avionics Technician to join the team at NAS JRB New Orleans in Belle Chasse, LA. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining aircraft avionics and electrical systems, performing inspections, troubleshooting complex systems, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
Technician maintains the following: Aircraft avionics/electrical and associated equipment
Remove and install avionics/electrical and related components and gear
Perform Daily, pre and post flight and periodic aircraft inspections
Perform flight operation activities to include daily, turnaround, launch and recovery including plane captain activities
Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes
Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul
Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment
Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components
Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components
Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results)
Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction

Qualification
Required
Minimum of 5 years of experience in military fighter aircraft maintenance
Willing to work variable shifts; including days, evenings, nights and weekends
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
Minimum of 1 year of experience reading and interpreting technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Must be able to work outdoors under all types of weather conditions with exposure to loud noise and exhaust fumes
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
Preferred
Fighter Avionics/Electrical modification experience
F/A-18 (AT/AE) Qualifications
Prior experience with Navy 4790.1 requirements, is preferred
