They are seeking an Assistant Production Manager to play a pivotal role in their casework division, focusing on production management, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs

Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production processing of goods, such as machine operators, fabricators and general laborers

Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to achieve production targets, quality standards and cost-effectiveness

Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement

Cultivate and train new employees

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including drafting, project management, quality control, and supply chain, to optimize processes, reduce lead times, and enhance product quality

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and execute continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma principles such as Kaizen, 5S, Fishbone, 8D and 5 why root cause analysis

Manage inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure efficient material flow

Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations and implement best practices to maintain a safe working environment

Conduct employee training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures, or assign employee training to experience members

Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to drive innovation in manufacturing

Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality or efficiency

Confer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints or grievances

Gather non-conforming papers, review and create new work orders for replacement parts needed

Review forklift inspection sheets, make sure they are up to date

Conduct employee performance appraisals to identify areas of limitation in order to provide coaching and guidance

Required

Experience supervising employees in a manufacturing environment

Exceptional leadership skills are essential. Demonstrated hands-on approach with staff, strong coaching skills and a 'factory floor presence' are required. Strong track record of leading and developing staff required. Strong change leadership skills a must

Strong project management skills/ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously required

Excellent written and oral communication, training and presentation skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace platforms

Valid Driver License
