Lawrence County Health Department is seeking a Director of Human Resources responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function. The role includes recruiting, staffing, performance management, and ensuring compliance with government regulations while fostering a high-performance culture within the organization.

To maintain personnel record keeping system and all office bulletin boards, etc. ensuring compliance with government regulations

To administer all phases of hiring process: prepare ads, screening, interviews, offer employment, process payroll and human resource related documents, employee orientation and training and monitor 3 month orientation period

To administer all phases of termination process: actual termination of employee, exit interview, process payroll and human resource related documents, manage unemployment issues and benefit claims processing, COBRA or termination of benefits

Policy and documentation development

Employee relations

Company-wide committee facilitation

Compensation and benefits administration

Event planning

Ensuring all employee annual trainings completed

Tracking of contracts, agreements, OSHA, and all recordable items

Maintaining incident reports and summaries

Employee morale, safety, welfare, wellness and health

Communicate employee changes (contact, payroll and/or benefit info) to bookkeeper

Serve as HIPAA privacy officer

Serve as FOIA officer

Serve as LCHD and County PIO

Designs and produces all LCHD and County ID badges

To perform other duties as required or assigned by Administrator

Required

Requires BA/BS in human resources or related field with at least 2 years HR work experience

ability to interact with administration, boards, public and staff in friendly, cooperative and professional manner
