The State of Florida's Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) is seeking a Government Analyst II to enhance the delivery of health care services through the Florida Medicaid Program. This role involves coordinating and performing monitoring activities to ensure compliance with federal and state laws, while providing data-driven feedback on the quality of the Medicaid program.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Coordinate and perform monitoring activities (routine and ad-hoc reviews) in accordance with Florida Medicaid policies and procedures, as directed by the incumbent’s supervisor
Analyze health care/program related information to determine compliance with federal and state laws

Required

Knowledge and experience with Medicaid or other healthcare systems
Knowledge of practical social services, public health, or managed care
Skilled in reviewing and analyzing reports related to health care, including financial and health services
Ability to compile, organize, and analyze data and develop reports
Ability to develop and implement various program monitoring methodologies and techniques
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to use computer systems for general office and research purposes (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Explorer)
Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, multi-task, and meet deadlines
Ability to organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials
Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team with other bureaus and the Agency management team
Ability to travel with or without accommodations
Two years of experience reviewing, monitoring, or auditing health care or social service programs for quality compliance
Four years of professional experience in systems analysis, management analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, engineering, or administrative work
