Principal Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and review of complex electrical systems in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices
Define and own the technical strategy, system architecture, and engineering roadmap for major projects
Serve as a subject matter expert, providing guidance, mentorship, and technical oversight to engineering teams to promote continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
Oversee end-to-end project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
Identify, assess, and manage technical and project risks, implementing proactive mitigation strategies
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with cost, quality, and performance expectations
Ensure full compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies
Lead design reviews, audits, and quality assurance activities; drive corrective and preventive actions where required
Promote a culture of safety, quality, and engineering rigor across all project activities
Act as a key technical liaison, clearly communicating project progress, risks, and outcomes to internal stakeholders and external clients
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including operations, procurement, and construction—to resolve complex technical and operational challenges

Required

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical engineering, with demonstrated leadership of large-scale or complex projects
Advanced knowledge of electrical power systems, design methodologies, engineering tools, and relevant industry standards
Strong planning and organizational skills
Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively

Preferred

PMP or equivalent certification
