Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Fellow Electrical Design Authority Engineer opportunity to support the Savannah River Site. The role involves applying advanced technical practices to resolve complex problems, providing leadership in technical solutions, and developing plans for major technical tasks.

Responsibilities

Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields and use other technical resources within the company to resolve complex problems

Incorporate advanced technical practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning

Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and be recognized as having expertise in a functional area(s) of technical expertise

Develop solutions to complex technical problems in fields of expertise

Keep informed on technical needs within the company and technical trends in area of expertise in the external world

Be aware of capabilities of the work group and needs of its customers

Identify technical programs which can be carried out with little guidance and take the initiative to accomplish them

Lead task teams to develop solutions to more complex problems

Prepare plans including schedules, budgets and personnel requirements for solving major technical tasks identified by management

Develop schedules, monitor progress, monitor expenditures of budget and review quality of work performed. Include research, development, testing, quality assurance requirements

Communicate the results and objectives verbally and in manuscript form to customers, colleagues, managers and oversight groups

Prepare reports for external publication

Required

An advanced degree and experience, a Ph.D. degree and about 10 years' experience OR a MS degree and 12 years' experience OR a BS degree and approximately 15 years' experience

Considered an internal expert in area of expertise

Contributes to advancing knowledge in field of expertise through various avenues such as internal and external publications and professional society presentations

Can solve complex problems in field

Require having 15-20 years of design authority experience in the nuclear industry

Require having working knowledge of NEC, IES, NFPA, IEEE, ETAP, and OSHA requirements

Require having experience using software (preferably ETAP) to generate electrical system calculations

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE 'Q' clearance
