Application Engineer
Planet Pharma is seeking an Application Engineer to support the development of applications within Tulip, a cloud-based Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The role focuses on converting paper-based manufacturing and quality documentation into electronic MES applications used in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and support MES software applications within Tulip or similar MES platforms
Translate manufacturing and quality process requirements into structured electronic MES applications
Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers and cross-functional teams on the production floor
Contribute to project planning, task sequencing, and schedule development
Track and report progress against milestones, proactively identifying risks and scope changes
Develop requirements specifications and test plans for software validation
Implement enhancements and new functionality to existing MES applications
Troubleshoot and resolve issues within automation and MES systems
Participate in technical design reviews and code inspections
Ensure compliance with development standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements (including 21 CFR Part 11)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline
Minimum 3 years of application development experience
At least 1–2 years of MES experience (Tulip, Apriso, or similar MES platforms)
Demonstrated ability to build and configure MES applications
Experience working in regulated manufacturing or process-oriented environments
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision
Preferred
Direct experience developing applications using Tulip MES
MES development experience in manufacturing environments
Experience in FDA- or ISO-regulated industries
Automation or process control experience
Programming experience with C#, JavaScript, and SQL Server
Experience with Power BI
UX-focused application development experience
IT infrastructure or hardware knowledge
