Quality Engineer (onsite)

Responsibilities

Develop and implement quality standards, policies, and procedures
Create and maintain quality documentation, including inspection illustrated plans, test procedures, and reports
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards (e.g. AS9100)
Drive manufacturing process improvements and ensure product builds meet engineering and quality requirements
Lead structured problem-solving and root cause investigations (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D, RedX, Shainin) for internal and external quality issues
Perform escape management processes and lead corrective/preventive action efforts (CAPA)
Apply UPPAP tools such as PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow, and Control Plans to manage and mitigate risk
Interface with fellow quality and manufacturing engineers, structures design engineers, engineering management, operations, shop floor personnel, and external vendors
Analyze nonconformities and design-related issues to recommend and implement corrective actions
Lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving quality, first-pass yield (FPY), and reducing cycle times or costs
Analyze quality data and key performance metrics to identify trends, recurring problems, and opportunities for continuous improvement
Support AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI) and related documentation
Support internal and external audits to evaluate quality systems and compliance
Serve as a quality resource and advisor for manufacturing floor personnel and stakeholders

Required

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
Experience working in a manufacturing environment
Experience interpreting and understanding technical drawings/reports, manuals, and work instructions
Experience in driving cost reduction or quality yield improvement projects

Preferred

Knowledge of Statistical Process Controls and Capability analysis
Experience with AS9100 Quality Management System
Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Requirements
Six Sigma, CORE, Shainin RedX Problem Solving, or ASQ Certification
Strong interpersonal skills with experience in negotiating, having difficult conversations, and ability to work well with factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders
