Railroad Crossing Technician

DeAngelo Contracting Services (DCS) is a family-owned business providing high-quality infrastructure and maintenance contracting services. The Railroad Crossing Technician will apply vegetation control treatments at railroad crossings, ensuring safety and compliance with contract specifications.

Responsibilities

Fill trucks with water/chemical mix

Perform minor weed eating with an industrial weed eater and chainsaw work (16" bar minimum) – approx. 25% of each day

Pull and roll up 300–500 feet of hose up to 32 times per day

Spray 8–10 railroad crossings daily

Safely drive and operate spray trucks between crossings

Call MTM for daily job briefings

Complete required end-of-day paperwork

Perform other duties as assigned

Required

High School Diploma or equivalent

21+ years of age or older

Valid driver's license with at least 5 years of clean driving history

Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical, and federal background check for railroad property access

Ability to travel away from home for 4–6 weeks at a time (DCS provides hotel accommodations and per diem)

Flexible schedule: Most work is Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm, with 10–12-hour shifts. Some weekend or night work may be required. Hours may vary with weather and workload

Occasionally travel to offices during breaks for routine truck/equipment maintenance

Must comply with company drug and alcohol policy
