PEDIATRIC PAIN AND PALLIATIVE CARE PSYCHOLOGIST

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Pediatric Pain and Palliative Care Psychologist to provide clinical services to pediatric clients. The role involves assessment, treatment planning, case management, and clinical supervision of psychology interns as part of an integrated clinical team.

Responsibilities

Maintains awareness of the sources of reimbursements for the service and follows through to ensure that all requirements are met
Accurately and timely assesses readiness for discharge or transfer. Utilizes SBAR when appropriate. Makes appropriate judgments, utilizing available resources in a collaborative approach, demonstrates competence per department requirements
Provides clinically competent case management services to clients as needed
Promotes a positive client experience, participates in service recovery and encourages clients' feedback
Provides clinical supervision to psychology interns and others as assigned
Discharge transfer plan is completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program policies and procedures. Collateral contacts are completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program policies and procedures. Initial assessment is completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program policies and procedures. Progress notes are completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program policies and procedures. Treatment plan is completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program policies and procedures. Treatment plan review is completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program policies and procedures. Weekly summaries are completed in an accurate and timely procedure within program policies and procedures
Initial assessments are comprehensive and demonstrate clinical competence
Performance Improvement: Demonstrates a clear understanding of performance improvement activities within the department. Actively participates in the Performance Improvement Process
Provides services equal to 65% of hours worked
Participates in supervision as needed
Maintains and provides knowledge of current issues in the field. Shares information from conferences, articles, and training with others
Demonstrates clinical competency in the provision of group clinical treatments. Demonstrates clinical competency in the provision of individual clinical treatments. Demonstrates clinical competency in the provision of family clinical treatments
Completes psychological assessments and consults in a timely manner and demonstrates clinical competence
Treatment plan is measurable, individualized, and incorporates client involvement
Other duties and/or projects as assigned
Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior

Qualification

Doctorate in PsychologyPsychologist LicenseClinical child psychologyForensic psychologyProficient in Microsoft OfficeProficient in Google SuiteCommunication skills

Required

Earned Doctorate in Psychology, internship in clinical child, school psychology, adult clinical and/or pediatric psychology
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms
Psychologist License or Practicing Psychologist License

Preferred

Post-doctoral training and/or experience in child maltreatment or forensic psychology
