Merchandise Intern

Public Relations

Responsibilities

Assist with the daily operations, including merchandising, stocking, inventory and management of seasonal staff
Process sales transactions accurately using point-of-sale (POS) systems
Deliver excellent customer service by greeting guests, answering questions, and providing product recommendations
Maintain organized and visually appealing product displays according to merchandising standards
Stock shelves, restock items as needed during events, and ensure all merchandise is properly tagged and priced
Participate in receiving shipments, counting inventory, and updating inventory records
Support retail needs during home games, special events, and promotional activities on both game and non-game days throughout the year
Assist with crowd flow, line management, and maintaining a clean and safe retail environment
Uphold the Durham Bulls’ brand by maintaining a professional appearance and positive attitude
Communicate product and brand knowledge to enhance our fan experience

Required

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Strong customer-service mindset; organized, motivated, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and all home events
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; adaptable to feedback, changing priorities, and tight deadlines
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, especially in a fast-paced environment
Capability Capacity to stand for extended periods of time
Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds boxes
Perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
Close vision and ability to differentiate colors
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Ability to remain focused and productive in noisy, crowded environments with multiple distractions
May require working outdoors in varying and unpredictable weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind
