The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Department Administrator for the School of Dental Medicine's Department of Restorative Dentistry and Comprehensive Care. Responsibilities

Supervises day-to-day operations of a small University academic unit and supervises team
Monitors budgets and performs associated financial duties
Assists in managing human resources actions and implementing procedures to streamline business operations
Monitors daily work progress and ensures compliance with policies and regulations
Oversees administrative duties and resolves routine issues
Provide primary administrative support to the Chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Comprehensive Care and secondary administrative support to approx. 40 faculty and 7 staff members assigned to the department
Generate/manage effective office procedures
Maintain confidential information related to faculty, staff, and students
Maintain a departmental database of departmental spending, authorizing Panther Express supply orders
Schedule departmental meetings
Execute tasks and meet deadlines in accordance with University and School policy requiring the timely acquisition of information from departmental employees
Manage/completing departmental and clinical credentialing, and annual evaluations
Represent/communicate knowledge of all departmental occurrences to include providing appropriate response to a steady flow of inquiries from the employees assigned to the department
Maintain the professional schedules of the Chair
Reimbursements and expense reporting (Concur) of departmental employees
Approve the time records (Pittworx) of departmental staff members assigned to the department
Order supplies for patient care clinical areas, monitor expenditures and prepare necessary documentation for review and approval by the department Chair
Contributing content for Morning Meeting Power Points

Required

Bachelor's Degree
2 years of experience
Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/or experience requirement
Ability to supervise day-to-day operations of a small University academic unit
Ability to monitor budgets and perform associated financial duties
Ability to assist in managing human resources actions and implementing procedures to streamline business operations
Ability to monitor daily work progress and ensure compliance with policies and regulations
Ability to oversee administrative duties and resolve routine issues
