Responsibilities
Serve as the senior technical leader for the Joplin plant, supporting metal fabrication, fiberglass molding, welding, and paint finishing operations
Drive operational excellence through process optimization, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives
Establish and maintain processes that ensure on-time delivery, cost control, and quality compliance for all new product design and ongoing production programs
Lead and develop engineering, quality, and program management teams
Collaborate with customer engineering and purchasing teams to influence product design for manufacturing, efficiency and scalability. Ensure rapid and accurate engineering change management to support customer needs
Assess and implement CAD/CAM and automation technologies to improve productivity and ROI. Champion digital transformation initiative that enhances design and manufacturing capabilities
Support and strengthen the Quality Management System to meet or exceed customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement in product and process quality
Monitor and control program costs for tooling, prototypes, and production. Ensure accurate Bills of Materials and labor routings to maintain profitability
Mentor and coach engineering and technical teams to build a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and professional growth
Promote a 'One Company' perspective by aligning engineering, operations, and business development teams toward shared objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Industrial) or a related technical discipline
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills
5 years of experience in manufacturing, including leadership responsibility
Experience supporting metal fabrication, welding, and/or industrial finishing processes
Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) and ERP systems
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and align technical functions with business objectives
Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint applications
Preferred
2 years of experience in design or product engineer in automotive or transportation custom fabrication environment
Exposure to fiberglass or composite manufacturing
Prior experience in coaching, mentoring and developing teams
Senior engineering management: 5 years
Manufacturing engineering: 5 years
plastics, metal fabrication and/or fiberglass: 4 years
process development: 4 years
