Responsibilities

Works under the general administrative supervision of the Regulatory Division Chief
Incumbent receives assignments as broad objectives expressed in terms of long-range goals and overall program objectives
Assumes full technical and supervisory responsibility for accomplishment of assignments
Is delegated wide latitude for initiating independent actions and decisions
Consults with the Division Chief only on matters of an unusual and controversial nature, or which require higher-echelon interpretation or formulation of policy
Technical decisions and recommendations are accepted as authoritative and serve as the basis for final action by the Division Chief
Work is evaluated for timeliness and effectiveness in meeting division/branch and Corps Regulatory Program objectives and for conformance to applicable laws, regulations and policy
Incumbent serves as Chief, of a geographic Field Office with responsibility for administering and enforcing the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers Regulatory Program within the geographic Field Office
The program is directed toward improving and enhancing the physical, biological and chemical integrity of the nation's water resources and ensuring that regulated activities in these waters are not contrary to the public interest, considering environmental, social and economic concerns
Assisting in planning, directing, monitoring, and executing the Regulatory Permit Program, pursuant to Section 10 of the Rivers and Harbors Act and Section 404 of the Clean Water Act, including the review of applications for residential or commercial development, and/or transportation, and/or mitigation related proposals
Administering and enforcing the program in compliance with governing public laws, regulations, interagency agreements, and policies of higher headquarters
Knowledge of State and Local Government Agency organization for management of environmental issues

Required

Must be a citizen of the United States
Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, are required to register for Selective Service prior to appointment
A trial or probationary period may be required
A supervisory probationary period may be required
Direct deposit of pay is required
This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 30% of the time
The incumbent is required to file an OGE Form 450, Financial Disclosure Report upon entering on duty in this position and annually thereafter
This position requires that the incumbent possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles
