Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations for multiple legal entities
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across all companies
Prepare and consolidate financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports
Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable state and federal regulations
Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies
Coordinate with external CPAs on tax filings, audits, and year-end reporting
Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial performance across entities
Lead and mentor accounting staff; evaluate workflows and improve efficiency
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Assist leadership with financial modeling, strategic planning, and ad-hoc analysis
Oversee AP, AR, payroll coordination, and general ledger functions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including Controller or Assistant Controller roles
Proven experience managing accounting for multiple companies or entities
Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
Experience with consolidations and intercompany accounting
Proficiency with accounting systems and Excel (ERP experience a plus)
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
Preferred
Experience in privately held or family-owned businesses
Background in professional services, construction, manufacturing, or multi-location operations
Experience supporting business growth, acquisitions, or entity expansion
