Responsibilities

Performs the hiring, developing and managing of the SO staff
Ensures role clarity among and between all roles in the SO organization
Establishes relationships and is viewed as an advisor to hospital leadership and Division Performance Improvement resources regarding workforce management
Collaborates with hospital leadership and division Performance Improvement resources in the establishment of standard configurations and process efficiencies to ensure Staffing & Scheduling Applications are maintained in accordance with division and company guidelines, and assists these resources in the monitoring of key indicators associated with staffing and scheduling
Responsible for developing quality measurements and reports for internal and external customers
Provides oversight in the research of issues and responses back to the facilities on the resolution of issues, under the direction of the AVP. Provides oversight and assists in the research and responses on Incident Reports
Is the knowledge source for systems used in the organization such as Staffing & Scheduling, Timpani, Kronos Alerts, ISAS and any new staffing and scheduling software or applications
Assists the AVP to develop strategies for facility configuration needs associated with enhancements related to labor management and staffing/scheduling technologies
Provides oversight on all orientation, education, staffing schedules and training of staff
Coordinates with the hospitals and divisions on the systems and operations of new departments in the hospital and facilities to the enterprise
Serves as an advisor to hospital and division management teams on the use of process improvement tools and techniques for workforce management
Conducts routine meetings with division and group leadership to review the performance of the staffing and scheduling technology in meeting the organization’s expectations
Monitors and communicates staffing and scheduling related issues to the appropriate administrator for corrective action
Provides education and training to the SO staff based on identified needs specific to performance improvement and the identified responsibilities of the SSA organization
Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and hospital policy to decisions that may impact configuration requirements in the Staffing & Scheduling application
Responsible for the execution of the organizational methodology for consistent configuration and maintenance related to SO responsibilities within the Staffing & Scheduling applications
Independent decision maker regarding the development of daily plans and actions to apply the organization’s policies within CBA and company policy constraints
Is the knowledge source for systems used in the organization such as Staffing & Scheduling, including Timpani, ISAS, WF 2.0, Inspire and new applications as developed
Establishes goals and provides reviews of all SO staff, completion of reviews for SO team. Provides Performance Improvement Plans and disciplinary action as necessary
Strong Communication skills as demonstrated by proactive communications with key customers and the ability to establish realistic expectations and communicate difficult decisions/information
Develops expertise, credibility and trust among internal customers
Responsible for completing tasks in a fast paced environment
Escalates issues to the AVP as necessary
Builds and maintains strong, effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders

Required

5+ years of relevant work experience
3+ years of management experience
Bachelor's Degree Required
Leadership experience in the health care industry with emphasis on workforce management
Experience with hospital staffing and scheduling preferred and associated applications
Previous experience must be applicable to applying organizational methodology in order to develop and deliver forecasts that support productivity and financial efficiency
Experience in Collective Bargaining environments a plus
Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power BI applications
Ability to readily master new software and related enhancements
