Electrician Trainee
NEOGOV is looking for an Electrician Trainee to assist electricians in the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in City facilities. The role involves performing basic electrical tasks, following safety protocols, and working under various environmental conditions.

Responsibilities
Assist electricians in wiring and installation of electrical equipment and fixtures, such as motors, generators, switches, circuit breakers, controllers, light fixtures and breaker boxes, in compliance with blueprints, schematic drawings and sketches
Perform basic carpentry tasks such as cutting drywall, plywood, or other materials to install or modify spaces for new outlets, switches, fixtures or conduit access
Install wiring and fixtures conforming to the specifications of local electrical codes
Follow verbal, written and digital instructions
Use test equipment regularly, such as a voltmeter and ohmmeter
Use hand tools of the electrical trade, plus power tools, ditch witch, bucket truck and chainsaws
Work under adverse conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather) and be able to perform manual labor (digging, heavy lifting, etc.)
Work at heights well above ground level from/out of various types of equipment
Plans wiring and installation of equipment
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalent diploma
Florida Class B CDL License, with air brake endorsement, (or ability to obtain within twelve months (12) months of employment)
General knowledge of the methods, practices and techniques used in the work assigned
General knowledge of the materials, tools and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of building electrical systems
Basic knowledge of carpentry methods for modifying or accessing wall structures during electrical installations
Knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in the workplace
Ability to work at heights well above ground level from/out of various types of equipment
Ability to work under adverse conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather) and be able to perform manual labor (digging, heavy lifting, etc.)
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with City team members, elected officials, various agencies and the general public
General knowledge and experience in the activities of electrical and telecommunications
Skill in measuring, cutting, and preparing wall openings with precision to minimize repair needs after electrical work is completed
