Responsibilities
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
Assist in defining project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
Ensure resource availability and allocation
Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress
Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using appropriate verification techniques
Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
Report and escalate issues to management as needed
Manage relationships with clients and all stakeholders
Perform risk management to minimize project risks
Support development of IT PMO processes and project templates
Manage the IT PMO SharePoint site
Drive project leadership following the Sound Transit project management framework, guidelines, documentation, and tools
Make real-time decisions based on established guidelines and communication disciplines
Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for the development of project-related artifacts
Develop and manage project communication plans
Develop and manage project training plans and documentation
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget while maintaining quality
Manage relationships with all stakeholders to understand specific project requirements
Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients and staff members
Lead projects involving mixed technical domains including computer systems, applications, infrastructure, networks, hardware, software solutions, databases, middleware, SaaS solutions, and internet/intranet sites
Facilitate working sessions to define project scope and objectives with relevant stakeholders
Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using the Sound Transit ServiceNow Project Management module
Track project performance and analyze successful completion of short- and long-term objectives
Provide regular project status updates (weekly to monthly) using the Sound Transit ServiceNow Project Management module, following IT PMO reporting cadence
Confidently brief executive audiences and provide reports to support proactive decision-making
Report and escalate issues to IT leadership as needed
Contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion aligned with Sound Transit’s Equity & Inclusion Policy
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, Information Systems, or a closely related field
Eight (8) years of experience in information technology project delivery or project management
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Five (5) or more years of experience as a Project Manager
