Data Management Specialist / Vehicle Assembly Structure Administrator – GM Defense

Responsibilities

Work with the Information Governance (IG) Board meetings, for review of data requests being sent from the GMD team
Export NX data files from GMD to LLC Teamcenter databases to a NX (.prt), STL, JT, or other file types. File conversion when required
Import data into Teamcenter
Use Sterling application for data exchange to/from suppliers
Use Sterling for data exchange between GMD and GM LLC databases
Teamcenter Multi-Site to remote import data from GM LLC databases
General GMD Teamcenter support, applying GMD Teamcenter Projects, helping with Teamcenter workflows, change owner/group ownerships
Work with PLM team when new GMD Teamcenter Projects are required
Support Virtual Health Check Issues
Participate in learning sessions for given SMT
Manage math issues, working closely with the DRE, DE, and DLT to resolve
Ensure configuration requirements (Variants) are applied with quality, on time
Create/Maintain Design Standards and Best Practices (Global Design InfoBOOK and Design Standard Work)
Support all Sync point math readiness activities
Stay ahead of current product developments and trends in area of responsibility
Perform as an expert in VAS, with high skills in GM CAD and Data Management System and Teamcenter Visualization

Required

Associates/Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design / Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
Minimum 3 years of product design experience
Proficient in CAD software and tools (NX, Teamcenter Engineering, Teamcenter Visualization)
Proficient knowledge of GM Design Standards, VAS Standards & Configurable Databases
Proficient in math release process, specifications, and data management
Strong attention to detail
Excellent communication skills required to create and present information to internal customers and leadership in a clear and concise manner
Extensive experience in VAS and data structures
Candidate must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, asylee or refugee)

Preferred

Demonstrated ability to work independently to solve highly complex problems and lead teams to consensus when needed
Supports the creation and Maintenance the optimized Virtual Build Program content and Tracking Vehicle numbers
Ability to audit, interpret, and correct MPL issues
