Vice President of Community Impact
The American Heart Association is dedicated to combating cardiovascular disease and promoting health in communities. The Vice President of Community Impact will lead the development and implementation of community impact strategies to achieve strategic goals, while managing a team and fostering community engagement.

Responsibilities
As a member of the Palm Beach County management team and the region’s health strategies leadership team, consistently models the organization’s leadership competencies and values in advancing the mission and achievement of health impact and revenue goals
In collaboration with the executive director and VP of development, provides vision and direction for the market’s unified health and revenue efforts
Leads and supervises the Health Strategies team, including coaching staff to achieve organizational objectives
As a player/coach, implements strategy in the area of content expertise (community impact, communications, etc.), while also supervising Community Impact staff to achieve annual goals and objectives
Lead the process of building or participating in collective impact campaigns. This will include assessing community health needs and developing, coordinating, and/or implementing community-wide strategies to eliminate health disparities through proven-effective policies, systems, and environmental change approaches
Recruitment and engagement of medical and non-medical volunteer leadership that represents and provides the variety, community influence, and personal affluence to champion the market’s board of directors’ revenue and health impact objectives
Build a network of volunteers and identify appropriate external partners to drive meaningful engagement to advance priorities and drive toward accessible health and well-being in the community
Develop, implement, and evaluate an integrated approach to strategically align community health and development planning consistent with market, region, and association-wide goals. Effectively involve and inform internal and external partners, mobilizing action around clearly defined, shared goals
Find opportunities for and promote collaboration and alignments among and between health and revenue functions to most effectively implement the organization’s priority initiatives
Develop and monitor market health strategies, budgets, and internal business operations in accordance with policies, fiscal standards, and the approved operating budget
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 5+ years of relevant experience in community/public health, or related field
Critical thinking skills in assessing the market environment and available resources to successfully conduct new and existing programs
Ability to lead large projects and events, ensuring target compliance
Ability to efficiently participate in a multi-disciplinary team environment working towards common goals. Ability to influence team members without supervisory authority
Excellent relationship-building skills, verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, problem-solving, and decision-making
Highly effective presentation and organizational skills, time management, responsibility, leadership, and motivation
Ability to travel locally within the market; requires access to reliable transportation on an immediate basis. May include some outside of immediate market travel and occasional evenings and weekends as needed
Preferred
Experience with collective impact campaigns is preferred
Ability to recruit, train, lead, and use staff and volunteers effectively, including C-suite level executive volunteers, and volunteer/board management experience is preferred
