Project Developer (Energy Engineering)
Engtal is a fast-growing, highly respected Energy & Infrastructure Solutions firm seeking a Project Development Engineer to expand their pipeline of facility upgrades and modernization projects. The role involves developing ESPC opportunities, performing site assessments, and collaborating with internal teams to execute projects effectively.
Responsibilities
Develop ESPC opportunities from concept through investment-grade audit (IGA) and proposal delivery, maintaining an active stakeholder throughout the build
Perform site assessments, collect facility data, and identify high-impact Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
Build savings models, scope narratives, budgets, and implementation roadmaps
Collaborate with internal engineering, construction, and finance teams to move projects into execution
Present technical findings and project value to client stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Experience in energy engineering, project development, or performance contracting (ESPC / ESCO preferred)
Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, controls/BAS, electrical, lighting, central plants)
Ability to estimate savings and develop bankable, deliverable ECM scopes
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Mechanical, Electrical or relevant Engineering background
Preferred
CEM (Certified Energy Manager) or similar credential
Energy engineering background or formal energy modeling / auditing experience
