Responsibilities

Build, oversee and lead directly or indirectly a geographically diverse team in operational accounting functions such as accounts payable, revenue and inventory accounting, accounts receivable and payroll, and have ownership of the implementation of groupwide and US GAAP accounting policies
Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes for accounting operations activities
Establish relationships with accounting and finance leaders and support the accounting teams to produce accurate, complete and timely financial statements
Deliver process transformations and technology implementations such as procure-to-pay and inventory management systems that are highly automated, efficient, are in accordance with GAAP, and audit ready
Ensure proper reconciliations and analyses of general ledger accounts
Design and maintain internal controls and documentation to manage financial risk
Collaborate and build strong relationships with leaders of cross-functional teams to ensure efficient reporting processes
Support transformation which includes evaluating current accounting processes to achieve standardization and contributing to continuous process improvements by focusing on value-added activities and leveraging technology for increased efficiency and automation
Coordinate with the external auditors to ensure successful engagement; provide all requested schedules, information and support as needed to support audit and tax preparation
Be an active change agent that actively mentors and develops team members to create an environment that encourages an openness to transformation

Required

Bachelor degree in accounting from an accredited university, Master degree a plus
CPA highly desired; MUST have strong knowledge and understanding of US GAAP
10+ years of direct and relevant accounting experience; MUST have large company shared services and operational accounting knowledge and experience
Proven success in process improvement, automation, transformation and technology/ERP implementation experience
Ideal candidate must be a team player with exceptional interpersonal, motivational, presentation, communication and leadership skills
Proficient in MS Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

Preferred

Prior Big 4 and / or public accounting experience in audit highly desired
Private equity, entrepreneurial, lean and fast-paced work environment experience preferred
