TriHealth is seeking a Student Nurse Intern for their Neuro Stepdown unit, providing selected nursing students with an opportunity to gain practical experience. The role involves working alongside a charge nurse and assisting with basic patient care activities under supervision, while also performing clerical duties as needed.

Responsibilities

The position provides an opportunity to work alongside a selected charge nurse and partner with the RN to learn and develop a foundation as a future professional nurse

The student nurse intern may provide assistance and/or perform basic activities of daily living and specified treatments and procedures under the supervision of the nurse overseeing their internship

They may also perform clerical duties and non-direct patient care activities as assigned/directed by an RN

They are qualified to function as a Student Nurse PCA

The charge nurse partner may delegate oversight for the student to another RN

This position requires the interpersonal skills to communicate with respect and compassion to customers; communicate information through various telecommunication devices and assist in coordinating patient flow

They demonstrate an interest in learning and developing as a future professional RN

They may work additional shifts in the capacity of a Student Nurse PCA when not working directly with the charge nurse partner in the Student Nurse Intern role
