Engineering Intern – EE, Aerospace, Robotics

MagLev Aero is a stealth mode startup in the greater Boston area developing a novel Propulsion Platform for Urban Air Mobility. They are seeking enthusiastic and motivated interns to assist in electrical and aerospace engineering projects under the guidance of a lead engineer.

Responsibilities

Assist in the design, assembly, and testing of electrical and control system prototypes
Perform hands-on work with wiring harnesses, component soldering, crimping, and electrical system assembly to ensure robust and clean integration
Actively participate in the troubleshooting and debugging of complex integrated systems, including hardware, software, and communication failures
Work with and debug various communication protocols, such as SPI, I2C, UART (Serial), CAN Bus, or Ethernet, to ensure reliable data transfer between microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators
Maintain clear and thorough technical documentation for all designs, experiments, and testing procedures

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Robotics, or a closely related technical field
Demonstrated experience with electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies)
Experience working with common microcontrollers (e.g., Arduino, STM32, ESP32)
Basic understanding of classical control theory and experience implementing control algorithms
Experience in university or competitive engineering teams such as SAE Aero, SAE Auto, Formula SAE, Design Build Fly, AIAA competitions, or similar

Preferred

Previous involvement in drone design, building, programming, or participation in robotics competitions is a significant advantage
