Research & Extension Budget Officer
Lincoln University of Missouri is seeking a Research & Extension Budget Officer to perform budgeting and administrative functions for the division of Research Extension. The role involves monitoring budgets, preparing reports, assisting with grant applications, and reconciling awards with Grant Accounting.

Responsibilities
Monitors budgets on a weekly basis for all Land Grant related funding
Prepares monthly and on-demand budget reports (balances and detailed spending by projects) for project directors (PDs, also referred to as principal investigators or PIs)
Assists principals PDs in drafting budgets for new grant applications/requests
Drafts budget revisions with PDs and work with accounting department to ensure timely completion
Enters purchase requisitions, payable vouchers, personnel action forms for PDs
Prepares monthly payroll reports for PDs showing allocation by project
Monitors execution of monthly time and effort reports by PDs
Reconciles Land Grant awards with Grant Accounting on a monthly basis
Monitors grant end dates and assists PDs with monitoring remaining balances and closeout activities
Other duties as assigned by the Dean, and 1890 Director of Research & Extension
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration, or three to five years' experience in grants and/or accounting work
One year of experience with Microsoft Office 365 required
Good computer skills and functions in relation to accounting. i.e. Excel
Sound knowledge and experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
Ability to analyze data and create informational forms
Ability to work with a wide variety of people
Must use good judgement and discretion in planning and performing work duties
Preferred
Two years' office experience in higher education or governmental accounting preferred
Experience in Colleague system preferred
