Civil Graduate Engineer - Infrastructure Design

New Grad, Entry LevelWestwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Graduate Engineer to join our Public Infrastructure team. The role involves providing support to licensed Civil Engineers while working on public infrastructure projects, including technical calculations and plan production.

Responsibilities
Assist project team in design of public infrastructure work
Assist project team in preparation of construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents
Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and utility evaluations
Prepare various exhibits and design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, and MicroStations
Coordination with agency staff and internal support teams on designs, analysis, and issues
Utilizing Microsoft Office Suite to develop calculations in Excel, reports and letters in Word, and presentations in PowerPoint
Assist with construction drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D and/or MicroStations including grading plans; plan and profiles; construction details; etc
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Ability to work on a team providing support to licensed Civil Engineers
Organized and self-motivated
Ability to collaboratively solve complex issues on time and within budget
Proficient in computer software (Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Civil3D, MicroStations, Outlook, Microsoft Project)
Competent technical skills required to complete engineering tasks
Able to pro-actively pursue design solutions
Ability to be open to other's ideas and willing to compromise
Detail-oriented but also flexible enough to be big picture/conceptual
Able to follow general directions and guidelines for the firm's policies, practices, and procedures
A supportive team member with the ability to work both independently and within a collaborative environment
Preferred
Experience with public infrastructure projects
Experience in preparation of construction drawings, technical specifications, and contract documents
Experience in preparing engineering reports, feasibility studies, and utility evaluations
Experience in coordination with agency staff and internal support teams on designs, analysis, and issues
Good reputation among peers, clients, and agencies
Strong communication skills with team members and clients, demonstrates active listening techniques
