Responsibilities
Serve as a Confluent Cloud and Kafka team member to design / install / deploy / administer the platform
Provide 24x7 support when on call
Partner with architecture team to drive platform alignment to modern architecture practices
Patch, create Roadmaps, and assist junior engineers
Build automation for install and platform management activities, such as restarts, patching, and other scenarios
Qualification
Required
10+ years in platform engineering and management involving Middleware technologies with a focus on Confluent Cloud and On Prem Kafka
10+ years of experience with Installation, configuration and administration of Confluent Cloud or On Prem Kafka
8+ years of experience with Installation, configuration and administration of Confluent Kafka Connect
12+ years of experience with UNIX and LINUX operating systems, storage environments, file systems, and network protocols
8+ years of strong understanding of distributed systems using messaging platform
10+ years of creating great documentation that enables other team members to learn and execute platform engineering and management activities
10+ years' experience in production support for Confluent or Kafka platform including troubleshooting and fixing production defects
8+ years applying DevSecOps and Infrastructure as Code patterns to build automation
5+ years of experience with Ansible, Terraform, Puppet and other Infra automation technologies
Possess a thorough understanding of modern work practices such as DevSecOps, Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), Agile project Delivery, Release Engineering
Very good written and verbal communication skills
Preferring someone who takes end to end responsibilities of the issues and drives them to closure with minimal support and follow ups from the team
Understands change management importance/procedures
Should be a team player and ready to spread knowledge within the team
