Fire Alarm Service Technician I
Century Fire Protection is one of the largest and most successful full-service fire protection companies based in the Southeast. They are seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician I who will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of fire alarm and life safety systems to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities
Perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems in accordance with NFPA standards and applicable local codes
Diagnose system issues, identify malfunctions, and complete timely and accurate repairs
Program, configure, and verify fire alarm control panels and related devices. Complete detailed service reports, inspection documentation, and compliance forms
Maintain accurate records of system work, deficiencies, and corrective actions. Communicate effectively with customers regarding system status, required repairs, and code compliance
Coordinate with project managers, service coordinators, and inspectors as needed. Ensure company tools, test equipment, and service vehicles are properly maintained
Follow all safety policies, procedures, and job site regulations
Stay current with industry codes, technologies, and certification requirements
Participate in on-call rotation and emergency service response
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience servicing fire alarm or life safety systems preferred
Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and local fire codes
Microsoft Office applications
Proficiency with fire alarm panels, devices, and testing equipment
Ability to use mobile service software, smartphones, and basic computer applications
Frequent standing, walking, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
Ability to work at heights and in occupied buildings
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Field-based role at commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties
Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and electrical environments
On-call rotation and occasional overtime may be required
Preferred
Technical training or certifications preferred
NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred or required based on state
Familiarity with system manufacturers such as Notifier or equivalent preferred
