Responsibilities
Work with cross-functional teams to understand software requirements and develop software solutions to meet those requirements
Create clean, maintainable, and efficient code
Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and functionality
Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to identify and troubleshoot software defects
Follow best practices for software development and contribute to the improvement of the software development process
Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in full-stack development
Use React/Redux, written in Typescript, to build out the front end of our mapping platform (running on top of Mapbox-GL)
The backend is comprised by a few databases (PostgreSQL, SingleStore, OmniSci, Elastic) and is accessed by several APIs written in Node/Python/F#
Develop the mapping platform within a well-established team
Work as a liaison/consultant with many teams to evangelize and even implement the mapping capabilities
Developing tools in a componentized manner to build up the core product as well as the platform
About 70% Front end development (React + Vite), 30% backend supporting and extending the server-side services (NodeJS)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 3 years' experience in software development
2+ Year proven experience as a Full Stack Developer with React, React-hooks, Redux, and Typescript proficiency
Experience in Mapbox or geospatial tooling is a plus, but not mandatory
Able to create aesthetically pleasing UI (if no design is available)
Experience in database management ideally with PostgreSQL, SingleStore, OmniSci, and Elastic
Experience with RESTful API design and implementation
Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Solid understanding of web security best practices a plus
Ability to adopt appropriate technologies responsibly with other teams in mind
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Eagerness to learn
Strong communication and collaboration skills and ability to empathize with other teams and customers
Ability to collaborate, effectively convey complex technical concepts and ideas, and to foster an environment of knowledge sharing and collaboration
Experience working in the Oil and Gas industry or other industrial settings is a plus
Preferred
3 + years in typescript, html, CSS
Good understanding of React core concepts (Context, State, hooks)
Experience with backend technology (Node JS)
Experience with map technologies
Experience with Git, code Review and CI/CD
