Responsibilities
Presentation of significant findings, orally and in writing, to senior management and engineers throughout the company
Analyze mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to improve performance, safety, and reliability
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to enhance equipment reliability and reduce downtime
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality
Identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction through innovative engineering solutions
Develop and refine mechanical systems and production equipment to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability
Analyze manufacturing processes and implement engineering solutions to reduce waste, increase throughput, and enhance product quality
Collaborate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and develop preventive maintenance plans
Lead and support capital projects, including equipment upgrades, installations, and facility expansions
Investigate equipment failures and process deviations using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram)
Work with suppliers and contractors to source components, review technical proposals, and ensure timely delivery of materials
Partner with operations, quality, and automation teams to support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
Identify opportunities for cost savings through design changes, material substitutions, and process improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial)
1+ years of mechanical engineer experience
Experience modelling using 3D CAD Software
Demonstrated ability to use analysis tools such as Matlab, MathCad, ANSYS, etc
Excellent written communication skills
Desire to work hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to operate successfully both independently or as part of a larger engineering team
Preferred
Experience with manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, the application of GD&T, FEAs, and FMEAs are a plus
