Director of AI Enablement
ExpandIQ is partnering with a high-growth SaaS company to hire a Director of AI Enablement & Developer Experience. This hands-on technical leadership role focuses on embedding AI deeply into the software development lifecycle to improve velocity, quality, and developer experience.

Responsibilities
Standardize and optimize AI coding assistants beyond autocomplete into refactoring, testing, and modernization workflows
Implement agentic CI/CD patterns:
AI-assisted code reviews
Automated unit test generation
Bug triage before human review
Deploy internal RAG-based bots to keep documentation and API specs continuously in sync with the codebase
Partner with Engineering Leads at the start of major initiatives to define the •AI approach• to delivery
Advise on modernization strategies:
When to use AI for direct code translation
When to generate characterization tests to safely refactor legacy systems
Design custom, project-specific AI workflows that eliminate repetitive sprint work
Build tools that help Product Managers turn raw customer inputs into structured PRDs and user stories
Enable “data analyst agents” that allow PMs to query usage data without blocking data teams
Establish secure internal AI usage patterns to prevent IP leakage
Own cost visibility and optimization across models, tokens, and tooling
Route workloads intelligently to balance performance and spend
Run advanced enablement sessions for senior engineers on prompting for architecture and systems—not just syntax
Define and track AI enablement success metrics (cycle time, time to first PR, bug escape rate, etc.)
Qualification
Required
Former Senior / Staff Engineer with strong empathy for real engineering pain
Strong hands-on experience with Python and/or TypeScript
Comfortable building internal tools and agents using modern AI frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, or equivalent)
Deep understanding of LLMOps and production-grade AI workflows
Thinks about AI as a delivery system, not a novelty
Can look at a project plan and immediately identify leverage points for AI
Strong change-management instincts—you can bring skeptical engineers along
Comfortable operating without a playbook
