Responsibilities

Work on aspects of in-cabin sound systems for future generations of Bose Automotive Audio Systems
Design electro-acoustic and mechanical concept and demo vehicles
Create acoustic structures in vehicle seats, roof liners and the peripheral of the vehicles
Design-in various transducers mounted to acoustical structures in different locations of the vehicle
Manage work performed with outside engineering service suppliers and part suppliers
Work closely with the internal industrial design team to create vehicles that will assist the imagination of what the Bose system will look like in a real production vehicle
Occasionally work with OEM customers directly
Take on a variety of parallel activities and drive them to completion
Develop guidelines for consistent deployment of the solutions for when getting closer to production

Required

Experienced with solid modeling in M-CAD tools (Ex. Siemens NX, SolidWorks, etc.)
Understand the design rules for plastic injection molding and metal forming
Some proficiency in FEA tools (Ex. CFD for thermal design, Ansys for structural design, etc.)
Decent mathematical modeling skills and intuition
Working knowledge and some exposure to basic electronic hardware design
Analyze complex technical problems and propose design of comprehensive solutions
Excellent communication and documentation habits and skills
Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or an equivalent degree, plus 5+ years of experience minimum

Preferred

Contribute to all phases of the software lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, test coordination, release, support, and documentation
Experience with basic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, multi-meters, etc.)
Natural interest and experience working on cars and audio systems
