Responsibilities
Lead quality assurance and regulatory compliance activities across a network of third-party food manufacturers and suppliers
Develop, implement, and continuously improve a Quality Management System (QMS) appropriate for a growing, outsourced manufacturing environment
Plan and conduct routine quality audits of contract manufacturing partners, including documentation reviews and on-site assessments as needed
Review and approve finished product specifications, ingredient specifications, and packaging standards to ensure alignment across internal teams and manufacturing partners
Review and approve COA's for raw materials, packaging, and finished goods; investigate and resolve any out-of-specification results
Investigate and resolve quality incidents, including non-conforming product, consumer complaints, deviations, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs)
Develop, negotiate, and maintain quality agreements, SOPs, and expectations with all manufacturing and supplier partners
Serve as the primary quality and compliance contact for internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners
Monitor changes in food safety and regulatory requirements and proactively update internal programs to ensure ongoing compliance
Support documentation and compliance needs for new product launches, reformulations, and new market expansions
Evaluate and qualify new manufacturing and supplier partners, including risk assessments, food safety plan reviews, and capability evaluations
Maintain organized, audit-ready quality documentation for all SKUs
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Regulatory Compliance within food or consumer packaged goods
Strong working knowledge of FDA food regulations, including FSMA and Preventive Controls
Hands-on experience with HACCP, food safety plans, and supplier approval programs
Experience managing quality programs for contract-manufactured products
Extensive SQF experience
Solid understanding of ingredient sourcing, food manufacturing processes, shelf-life considerations, and labeling compliance
