They are seeking a Sr. Staff Accountant for Investment Accounting, responsible for accounting and reporting on invested assets under both GAAP and statutory standards, and supporting the management team with investment reports and analysis.

Responsibilities

Supporting Investment Accounting management team with project work and process improvements

Researching, creating, and developing investment reports on various fixed income investment types

Analyzing investment results at granular levels to support asset class and legal entity reporting

Preparing, analyzing and reporting detailed expense reporting, including tracking actual performance against budget and forecast by account, cost center, function and project

Assisting staff with responsibilities, including cash balancing, reviewing general ledger entries, trial balance reconciliation, SEC, GAAP, and NAIC statutory reporting

Processing complex investment activity, including investigating and correcting investment activity within the investment subledgers database

Assisting with coaching and training of less experienced members within the department

Validating the integrity of the data housed within the subledger

Preparing monthly and quarterly workpapers and report deliverables to support investment ledger balances and disclosures

Analyzing, investigating and resolving reporting balances and variances as needed
