Responsibilities

Design and enhance processes to identify external regulatory requirements, benchmark best practices, validate control effectiveness, and summarize findings
Create controls, metrics, and monitoring mechanisms to assess the performance and sustainability of compliance programs
Lead and support business process analysis and reengineering initiatives; present insights, risks, and recommendations to senior and executive leadership
Partner with directors and officers to develop strategies and corrective action plans that address root causes and prevent recurrence
Analyze failure and performance data to identify trends and recommend process improvements using industry and organizational knowledge
Provide coaching and guidance to team members and stakeholders on compliance and control validation practices
Operate effectively within a matrixed organization, influencing decision-making across multiple business units
Support the prioritization and evaluation of processes subject to regulatory control reviews
Travel across the service territory as required to support on-site assessments and validation activities

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
7+ years of progressive experience in utility operations or another highly regulated industry
2+ years of experience conducting causal analysis, investigations, or root cause evaluations
Willingness to travel up to 70%

Preferred

Master's degree or equivalent professional experience
Experience with regulatory oversight, audit readiness, and compliance leadership
Knowledge of state and federal regulatory frameworks related to electric or utility operations
Strong understanding of operations, maintenance, and engineering processes
Proven ability to present complex findings clearly to senior and executive audiences and gain alignment on next steps
Experience with process controls, instrumentation, structured process improvement, or reengineering methodologies
Strong interviewing and facilitation skills across all organizational levels
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in team environments
Certifications or training in auditing, causal analysis, process improvement, or project management (e.g., CIA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, compliance or ethics certifications)
