The State of Wisconsin's Department of Transportation is seeking a Civil Engineer Transportation Supervisor to join the Southwest Management Team. Responsibilities

Perform administrative and supervisory functions in the field of engineering

Supervise professional and technical staff that provide support for engineering related functions

Coordinate staff and resources to meet program objectives

Provide training and developmental opportunities to staff

Apply technical expertise in decision-making

Develop and implement policy

Perform professional engineering work

Apply professional engineering expertise in decision-making

Prioritize, assign, and monitor work to meet project requirements and deadlines

Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, other agencies, consultants, and contractors

Review, analyze, and approve engineering reports, documents, and plans

Required

A valid Professional Engineering registration and be able to obtain a Wisconsin PE registration within 3 months if the PE registration is from another state

Experience in transportation program or project management

Oversight of transportation projects or programs in design/construction (interpretation of Facilities Development Manual, Highway Maintenance Manual, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices or similar) including delivery of plans, specifications, and estimates (PSE)

Managing project or program progress tracking/reporting

Negotiation and/or administering consultant contracts

Developing and tracking project or program budgets
