Responsibilities
Conduct medical record audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Provide direct, real-time coding and documentation support through phone consultations, on-site visits, and virtual training
Develop and deliver educational materials, including tip sheets, presentations, and workshops tailored to individual providers or specialties
Offer guidance on government and payer reporting policies related to coded data, including level of service, diagnosis, procedure, and diagnostic code assignments
Analyze coding data, communicate findings, and collaborate with leadership teams to drive continuous improvement
Work closely with clinical practice managers and coding leadership to maintain best practices and coding standards
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years of professional service/physician coding experience (Required)
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Required
Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines
Firm understanding of medical terminology and compliance standards
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively educate and collaborate with providers
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred
Bachelors degree in Science or related field (Preferred)
Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA) Preferred (or must obtain within 2 years of hire)
