M&T Bank is seeking a Property Preservation Specialist III to join their Property Preservation team. This role is responsible for managing a conveyance portfolio, handling code violations, and ensuring compliance with operational standards.

Responsibilities

Sign off on documents and approve loss sheets as a result of the late submission of reports

Complete curtailment billings that are submitted to vendor

Review and approve hazard claim repairs, and investor allowables

Participate in weekly conference calls with vendors

Oversee the Property Preservation mailbox ensuring that all correspondence is responded to timely

Refer all files to Real Estate Owned (REO) that cannot be conveyed to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

Approve code violation bids

Complete projects related to nonperforming loan sale, due diligence bids for HUD and overdue tasks

Manage a conveyance portfolio, ensuring that deadlines are being met by working closely with the vendor, obtaining status updates and reducing monetary losses

Manage the reconveyance portfolio ensuring that timely responses are provided to HUD and determine responsibility of the reconveyance including placing the property back into conveyance condition timely

Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable

Required

A combined 4 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 2 years' Mortgage Default and/or Property preservation experience

Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and email software

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Detail oriented

Motivated, team player with a positive and friendly attitude

Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills

Very strong work ethic and ability to work independently

Preferred

Bachelor's degree

Knowledge of departmental software and M&T Bank systems

5 years' Mortgage Default and/or property preservation experience

Prior departmental experience preferred
